Position Summary
Seeking an experienced, visionary, and collaborative Program Director to oversee all aspects of on-air programming and content development. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, leadership, and a deep appreciation for community-centered broadcasting. They will work closely with volunteers, station staff, and community partners to shape a dynamic and responsive programming schedule that reflects the unique voices and interests of our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a compelling programming schedule that aligns with the station’s mission and values
- Supervise and mentor on-air talent, volunteers, and programming staff
- Ensure compliance with all FCC regulations and broadcast standards
- Oversee live broadcasts, special segments, and emergency programming as needed
- Cultivate partnerships with local artists, organizations, and content creators
- Evaluate programming through listener feedback, audience metrics, and community engagement
- Support fundraising, outreach, and promotional activities in collaboration with the development team
- Uphold and promote the station’s values of diversity, inclusion, and equity in all programming decisions
Qualifications
- Proven experience in radio programming, broadcasting, or media production (minimum 3 years preferred)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; experience managing teams or volunteers
- Deep knowledge of FCC regulations and public/community radio standards
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Passion for community service, cultural diversity, and alternative media
- Technical proficiency with audio production software and broadcasting equipment is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
